OK, here's some suggestions:

- mounting crossover externally is a great idea. It lets you tweak them at will (wish I'd done this). Also, hard wire everything using brass screws & nuts for connections (no soldier). This lets you change out components easily (John Curl recommendation I believe).
- Hoveland caps have a reputation of working well with the Scanspeak tweeters. Try the Axon's until you're satisfied then go for the Hovelands and soldier them up.
- Black Hole 5 is definitely the way to go. Put some behind each driver & on the top & bottom walls. I found the punch/snap/quickness of the drivers was far better when the fiberfill was removed & Black Hole inserted. Also got about 1/2 octave deeper response. You may have to adjust your crossever though since the drivers may sound louder with less dampening material in there.
- use window caulking to seat and seal the drivers. Makes a difference and they can still be easily removed.
- I like solid copper internal wiring (I used 22 guage 4 wire in a star pattern for each driver).
- Since they're open you may want to put some dampening compound (clay?) in the corners to round them off. Couldn't hurt. If the cabinet isn't totally solid to the knuckle rap you may also want to add some additional cross bracing.

8545 drivers have a great reputation. I have 8546 Kevlar in an MTM with the 9300 tweeter that I like very much.

Enjoy,
Bob
