Thanks to all the people who convinced me to do another. It turned out really excellent, looks much better than the last one, and saved me at least $1k over what I was going to buy. This time I made it with four 3/4" legs 54" high, eight 24"x18"x3/4" shelves, oak veneer on the edges - it is quite a heavy item. Four legs was not really significantly more difficult to level (compared to the previous 3-legged one) and seems noticeably sturdier, but that could partly be because I used 5/8" legs before.
