Yep, that trannie is not up to the task. Although the Pass Zen draws 2 amps at idle, it does have to charge the 20Kuf (40Kuf for the revision) of capacitance in the power supply (according to Nelson Pass). Like you said, Pass recommends at least a 5 amp transformer to be used with the Zen. I've got two 13 amp trannies ready for service in the Zen once I find some beefy heatsinks. I can't wait to hear what this thing will sound like.Tom S.
