approx. 6 years ago I bought a Terk "square" passive indoor FM antenna (approx. 4" sq.) and it has been with me up until today.Compare with conventional "rabbit ear" indoor TV/FM antenna and "Y"s FM antenna this little beauty picks up more signal, exhibits less directionality and noise (S/N) is excellent! I used to capture about 8 local stations in FM range in a rather "fair" condition (most of them with indicator needle in middle to 2/3 scale).
With this little baby I can manage to capture at least twice the station, with all the mediocre ones previously becoming more clear and less signal swing (in terms of noise).
If still available this little Terk cost approx. 18US. Worths every single penny spent. ( I bought it @ Target)
BTW, I live in a wide-open area with little to no hi-rise building acting as a signal reflection. In the nite I can barely capture some Seatle suburb stations...
regards,
Quest
