Hi there,I'm not too sure on the Diodic issue, but if disimilar metals are joined we essentially get a Thermo Element which will give a few uV to mV per centigrade....
After a long time just ignoring the issue of Solder I decided to experiment a little. As a result of the surprisingly large differences between different Solders (WBT and Wondersolder stink, normal solder is a lot worse than even these and Kester 58/38/2/2 SN/PB/CU/AG is also pretty bad) I now use exclusively LEADFREE silverbearing Solder....
Having had the chance to compare a few Interconnects with identical Plugs, Cable and length and only different Solder was quite an Eye opener....
Highly recommended....
