Scosche makes a 1/0 gauge to 4 gauge converter adapter made of coated machined brass. This adapter can be machined down to fit any sized opening for IEC plug. There may be other similar gizmos that can be usefully adapted.Scosche also makes 0,1,4,6 and 8 gauge OFHC copper (high thread count) power distribution wire for car stereo's. Alas, it is PVC coated. The price is ultra cheap and available by the foot or roll.
Furutech, of Hong Kong, makes a possible replacement (FI-15F(G) or FI-15F(R)) for the discontinued Switchcraft IEC panel socket. See: http://www.furutech.com/audio-E/Accessory/inletsplug.htm
Furutech also makes a nice IEC plug that can be disassembled and soldered. Follow the above link to look at FI-15M (Rhodium plated) and FI-15 (gold). The FI-15 is being retailed for $70. by Gutwire (ouch).Hope this is useful.
