Since the Richter Scale uses an unregulated power supply, upgrading the op amps would probably not give you any stunning improvement unless you gave them a regulated supply. The biggest improvement I found with mine was when I removed the output caps and drain resistors. I tried just upgrading the caps to PPs and that helped, but removing them completely got rid of most of the midrange glare. Then, wire the Richter so that the EQ only affects the low pass section, i.e., don't wire it into the tape loop like AC recommends.
