Re: marchand xm9

I assembled the deluxe version of the XM9 last year, and I have to say, for anyone who is used to Dynaco or Heathkit, or who hasn't done any scratch-building, this is a bit of a challenge. Parts identification was tricky and confusing (I had to call Marchand several times, and half the time all I got was a message machine), and instructions were contained in about three separate manuals, making it necessary to jump back and forth. This is not to say that it can't be done, or that the unit won't turn out OK (mine worked the first time I turned it on, and sounds great), but be forewarned that this kit is probably not for the beginner.
