One of me mates had this amp for a few years, and so I'm slightly familiar with it. The sound is a little creamy for me, too; but I don't think this is down to the OT, which is pretty good quality. I darkly suspect that the considerable expense of changing these out is not going to noticeably improve the sound of your amp. Have you looked at the coupling caps in there? As I remember they were pretty indifferent quality parts: I bet changing them to Hovlands,or Jensen copper foils, would give a bigger bang, and for less bucks.

I don't usually foist my sonic opinions on folks around here, since you guys are pretty good listeners; but OT's are effing expensive!
