I have been tweaking my components for some time and would like to try my hands at building my own component. A headphone amp looks like a good place to start for the simplicity of the circut, low cost and the fact that I don't have a quality headphone amp to power my 580s. I have seen several designs on the headwize site and ran across this design on the SDS labs page. www.Clarkson.edu/~stokessd)Is this a good design? It is basicly an op-amp (OPA2132)driving a pair of MOSFETs (Harris RFP15N/P05) two per channel. I like the fact that there are no caps in the signal path, and I plan wire connections point to point and not use a circut board. I am a little concerned because this was designed to drive some Grado 60s which are 32ohms. Will this circut have a problem with my Senns at 300 Ohms? I was planning on upgrading several of the parts on the recomended list. eg, replace ceramics with PP, resistors to Vishay, Some good quality electrolytic caps, use LM6172 or 2 OPA627s as I have a few of both laying around, Bypass everything with SMD stacked film etc. Are there any other suggestions for improving on this circut, perhaps 2 seperate PS and circuts for the L and R channels? Any information and or words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated
