I am still waiting for the MAX2620 but in the meantime my clock is working (ticking) very fine. The MAX 2620 is in backorder. My circuit is about the same as fig.4 in the datasheet; the crystal being used without the series capacitor.
The whole circuit can be build on a breadboard as it is very simple. I used the +5V supply from my Sony.
