Hi,I would value your opinions on how best to support floor mount speakers on a carpeted floor.
Up until now I've used spikes which push through to the wooden floor underneath. However I've read with interest the various threads on using a more absorbent style support to decouple the speakers from the floor.
I'm not sure what kind of support would work on top of a carpet and yet still keep the speakers stable. For example the carpet and underlay itself if a fairly good isolator but taking the spikes out leaves speakers unstable (which apart from practical issues involved kids, I also assume to be bad sonically).
Any thoughts ?
Antony
