Room Tweak with high WAF: Polyfill behind the pictures

209.31.40.146

I have a lot of framed, glass fronted pictures in my listening
room and not a lot of sound absorbing material.

The room has a lot of bass boom as well as high frequency reflections.
The pictures would occasionally buzz as they vibrate against the wall.

So I tried filling in the space behind each picture with enough
poly-fill so that each picture is now floating away from the wall
by about 1/8 - 1/4".

This seems to have several benefical effects
1) the pictures don't buzz
2) if you tap on the glass of the pictures they are less resonant
3) there seems to be less bass-boom. I think low frequency
energy the wall and the pitures is being absorbed by the
poly fill.
4) you can't tell there is anything behind the pictures.

So for those of us who can't put sound absorber all over the
walls, this may help.
