Does the ground loop still happen even with the sub RCA unplugged? If so, how does the cable affect the electric lines?My sub hums no matter what is hooked up (RCA plugged with receiver on or off, and RCA unplugged). Haven't tried any remedies yet, such as reversing the plug polarity and such. The sub still seems to play signals from the receiver, just not at the right levels (seems a little faint). Plus I noticed some of that electronic burning smell. I think it's the sub's amp.
