Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

Dear DIYers,I need your help!
I want to build a subsonic/EQ filter for a subwoofer. I already have the design of the op-amp based filter but now I have to actually build it and I have no idea what type (not the values) of caps or resistor to choose (theory is OK but I really don't know anything about practice).
The filter is a Sallen-Key second order filter (the design is based on suggestion from the woofer manufacturer). I don't know how to make a drawing...
C1=C2 (in series connected to opamp in+)= 680 nf
R1 (between opamp in+ and gnd)= 47 K
R2 (between opamp out and middle point of C1 C2 )= 2.7K
R3 (between opamp out and opam in-)= 47K
C3 (between opamp out and opam in-, parallel on R3) = 220 pFAnd also a 100 nF capa between the power supplies of the OP-AMP
The OP-AMP suggested is the MC33078.Questions:
1) What type of capa (tantal, foils,...) and resistor should I use, I have absolutely no idea!
2) Can I also use the LT1364 as an OP-AMP (from what I read on the forumit is equivalent but sounds better), if yes, should I then change anything in the feedback loop?
Thanks in advance.
Michel
