Long Run Between Passive Preamp and Crossover

I am setting up my system in my new room (actually the family room). The room is about 12.5'x19'. My speakers are on one of the long walls and my listening position is on the other long wall. The TV is between the speakers.
I'd like to set up my equipment so that all devices with remote control (CD, VCR, digital cable box) are underneath the TV. To minimize the number of runs underneath the floor, I'd like my preamp to be with these remote control devices. The other devices, active crossover, amps, etc. will be hidden in a closet on the same wall as my listening position.
Question: the preamp is passive, will a 15-20' run to the active crossover be a problem?
