I don't think it's going to improve sound quality. However if you're still going to try I'd recommend you to use bipolar Darlingtons. I've tried different transistors for emitter/source follower in my DAC power supply (180V, 52mA) and ended up with ignition Darlingtons like BU931 or BU941. MOSFETs give worse sound and also die time to time under transient power up/down conditions, IGBTs are not that weak but still have worse sound quality. However in case of supply for 6550 output stage you have to take special precautions not to exceed ignition Darlington's voltage ratings or build a Darlington from horizontal retrace transistors.Bye,
