As it turns out the Helmholtz resonators are fairly insensitive to exact dimensions, size of nozzle; in fact, if you just slap something together it will likely give the same results as if you calculate the dimensions of the resonators, nozzles, etc. - How will you determine the frequency and location of standing waves in your room for example? This requires some thought. As it turns out, if you just follow (blindly) what works for most people who've tried these resonators/room lenses, in terms of approx. size and location, you won't be too far off.
