It's interesting to read Peufeu's views that the amp wont work with the higher voltage and me saying it probably will. I tend to be on the optimistic side when tweaking stuff and if something goes wrong, well I'll still live. I also assume that a person trying this knows the risks. I make most of my SS circuits with constant current sources doing the biasing so the supply voltage is really not so critical as long as it's not too low since that wouldn't leave any room for signal swings. So I tend to jump to the conclusion that many other amps will also handle higher voltage. But like Peufeu says, you will have a thermal problem even if the circuit handles the higher voltage. I really dont think it would sound any better just going to a higher voltage. Going to a higher VA rating (same voltage)and increasing supply capacitance will surely make it sound better though.
