Hi there,I've got the Zen 84C kit for some time now. It does work beautifully with full range speakers. Of course, the lower they go (full range = 20 Hz?!?) the more power you'll need at the same efficiency rating.
I use it with floorstanders that go down flat to 35-40 Hz and have output to about 20. Only on very bass-heavy pieces at the volume all the way up do I hear clipping. But at this volume I can't really listen for more than a few minutes. So at an estimated 92dB my speakers are a good match for the Zen. It also handles very low impedances beautifully.
I can't speak for the bottlehead stuff, but if in doubt, perhaps Steve (Decware) can send you a used Zen to evaluate for the shipping. Worth asking for it...
Also, check-out his forums more carefully. There are several references that "anything made with Lowthers" will work that I just saw today.
Also, let's not confuse "floorstanding" with "full-range" (down to 20 Hz, up to 20 kHz and above) - most Lowthers won't go low enough to consider them full-range
Enjoy,
Kocho
