Re: transformer

My guess is that the "Power Humpty" uses one 170VA R-Core transformer. I say this based on what I have recently learlned about the high-quality of R-core transformers and their physical shape relative to the shape of the Humpty enclosure. I could be wrong of course, but that is my guess.

The Plitron at 18-0-18 sounds good, but I am looking for at least 25-0-25. I want to be able to get 20-25W from the amp. My current amp is a Jolida 302b in modified triode, putting out about 30W and this is enough on the 4-ohm taps to push my nOrh 6.5's, but I wouldn't want to go much less than 25W.

Does anyone know of a good source for larger Plitron xformers or R-Core transformers?

Dan W.
