Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I'm new to the world of mid-hi fi audio, so this might be an elementary question but I'm having trouble getting a definitive answer. Anyway, I have recieved advice from people who are adament about using spades to terminate speaker wires as well as those who are opposed to any form of termination. I can see the benifits to both opinions, but I haven't had the time to experiment yet. I'm sure a lot of you have strong opinions on the matter, and I'd appreciate any advice you may have. One more thing worth mentioning is that the Audioquest type 4 speaker wire that i'm using has 2 twisted pairs. When I screw it down into the binding posts on my integrated amp, I'm not able to get both wires screwd down really tight. It seems like one wire always screws down real well, but I can always just pull the other one out.
