Hello.
Finally test results with Tentlabs, DEXA and Belleson. And final conclusions. For I/V stage Belleson regulators are simply useless. DEXA is much better but do need good caps (used ZA 150uF) on output, otherwise they are so slow you fall a sleep. But with caps they are quite good and musical. Still shunt type is the only way to go here.
CD driver stage(5v) is one important part. Again Belleson is useles and even humble LT1085 is a bit better, but here DEXA is VERY good. Do not use any cap next to it here.
Did also 'beading' with Murata(6pcs) stuff on CD and changed all electrolytes to ZA:s. Not sure if i did gain something, but quite easy complete if you just are careful with those delicate lines on servo.
Conclusions:
Already Njoe fitted with a Super Clock, AD797 and good electrolytes is better than original Upsampler.
AD797 replaced with Dexa discrete Opamp is a big leap, but all mods i have described and Burson(get one with long wires) with 4 regs makes Njoe Tjoeb to a KILLER!
Still one wrong part will ruin the whole project, so have ears open and mind open.
My experience with Belleson is limited and they may sound well somewhere else.
Looks like this cd cannot easily be improved much more. But after final tuning i will try how this competes with really expensive stuff. Funny to see how many thousands they need to put until they can beat this. Quite a few i believe.Best,
/VK
