If no "gremlins" get into the box, hard wiring rates to be a little better. When you do drastic "surgery" of the type you are considering, ground loops, oscillation, etc. can enter the picture. OTO, quality adaptors from Vampire, Monster, etc. treated with ProGold or other good contact enhancer will come quite close to hard wired without the risk.Eli D.
