This may manifest itself by: Overheating, noisy tranformer laminations, hum in signals, or a combination of the above.Transformers which have 117V/230V primaries, generally, cope reasonably well with mains frequency variations, whilst those which are designed only for 117V operation MAY have problems.
High quality products are usually designed with good quality transformers and will usually be OK. Cheap products may or may not be. It would be best to contact the manufacturers of your equipment, for their opinions.
