.............And, reversing one power input cord might just increase the dreaded HUMMMMMMMMMMMM.Some tube monoblocks, which have inherent "tendencies" toward humming, are constructed so that the phases of some of the power/filament supply elements on both chassis are 180 degrees respective to each other so that the audible hum is out of phase and thusly somewhat attenuated at the listening point.
Disclaimer: I can't name a particular commercial unit that practices this logical trick, but I know that it's done in the DIY community and on my monoblocks.
