I am pleased to own 8008BB and 8008X3 amps (mfg is Mondial). It has taken me a couple of years of trading and upgrading to work up to these amps (funny, I remember back five years ago when I though paying $2-3K for an amp was insane). But they really are rock solid, quality amps.
Anyway, the only thing I object to or would want to change about the amps is the binding posts that are used -- cheap, plastic ones. I've been considering replacing them with high quality Cardas or WBT posts. I asked Mondial why they used these posts They said it was because of "safety issues".
Then I asked Kimber Kable about any such issues They replied as follows:

"There really are not any and we do have the CE compliant WBT 0730 and 0745
series which are fully insulated posts(metal under a see thru hard plastic
insulator. So I suspect it is a cost issue for them rather than an actually saftety issue."
This agrees with my thought also. Of course, this would probably void the warranty. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
