How much are the rollerblocks? I have a brightstar big rock (sand box)under my tranport and DAC with a little rock on top. The improvement in my system was not quite large. Tighter bass, more detail, and better sound stage. Think they cost me $225 or so at my local dealer. It was a real no-brainer for me, after hearing what it did I could not listen without them. If cost is an issue you could make your own sand box and place plastic bags of sand on top for mass loading. I went with the brightstar because it looks very nice in my rack. Nothing I could make would look as cool. If looks are not as important to you build and save the $$$. Good luck.
