They will be beneficial to unshielded interconnects like Kimber PBJ etc that may otherwise sound too bright as a result of RFI. The change is not entirely due to RFI rejection, but also due to a change in the mechanical resonance property of the cable. The increased composite mass of the interconnect may result to a slightly weightier bass, which depending on the interconnect, may or may not be beneficial to you. Also, note that ferrite clamps will still change the sound of shielded interconnects also due to alteration of its mechanical resonance characteristics. The typical result is dull treble (and dynamic compression), as Jack have correctly noted.
They seem to have little or no effect on speaker cables tho.
They are beneficial on the power cords of components that have minimal current draw, like cd players or FM tuners, or small amplifiers. NEVER put a ferrite clamp on the power cord of a big power amp, or a tube amp however. This typically result to wimpy dynamics and liliputian soundstages.
