Only 1 inch of polyester batting will absorb frequencies above about 3-4 kHz, with lesser effects down to 1 kHz or so. This will result in the infamous "my room sounds boomy and bass heavy because I used absorbers" syndrome, where in realitym, it was not the absorber as such,m but the minimal thickness. If all you were trying to do was kill some slap echo, or warm up the room, then fine. If you are trying to do spot absorption ala the mirror point, etx. then more thickness would be required, I would recommend a minimum of 4 inches.
If you are using room lenses, and just want to keep the TV from being a problem, then 3-4 inches draped over the TV should do the trick. The outer layer of polyester in conjunction with the doubled up foam mattresses should do the job sufficiently, so unless they are problematic in some way, why spend more money?
