All preamps have some amount of channel crosstalk. Usually, the phono stage requires a somewhat higher volume level than line level components, and when switched in (with no source playing), it is not uncommon to hear a low level of crosstalk, but you should not be able to hear it from your listening position. Read the specs on the Krell and see what the db crosstalk specs are between channels (inputs).
