I am under a non-disclosure agreement concerning the Kimber technology.
No further comment on that.Re the Watkins patent, yes I had seen it years ago, and tried it out.
On a well designed crossover, where the compoents have been engineered to a precise value, it tends to screw thikngs up a little, and while it may actually reduce any tendencies toward "ringing", on a good crossover design, this is not a real issue. Mind you, I am a perfectionist when it comes to crossovers!
On mediocre crossovers, it will usually help, as the overall effect is to dry out the sound, and make it a little more distinct. It is worth trying on any homebrew crossovers, but it is not the same as the Kimber technology, at least as near as I can tell. As far as I know, the Watkins patent has not yet expired (17 years).
If you want to try it out on a homebrew crossover, use the 50 ohms on the drivers, and on the inductors, but only 100 ohms on the caps.
