Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |
|
1) This must be one of the only places I can post this...2) I won't go into system description, The results I describe below are the same with other components, as well with friends' home/system, for comparison.
3) I am pretty much idle when it comes to components, cables and outlets rotation, I have also found the perfect, IMO, dedicated 6 sq. mm. single core, wire (domestic) for my high current system, Tried several as well.
4)The only thing I find incomplete is the house AC-MCB'S RCCB fuse box choice, when it comes to sound, I'm sure the fridge, washing machine etc. wouldn't know the difference...
5) This is what I've tried so far and I would appreciate very much any suggestions:
For resolution and tidiness - Siemens 5SX21 6kA: The most open, effortless sounding, Even tonally Yet uninteresting, hi-fiish and extreme highs all sound "KSSSSish"(if you catch my drift).
For sheer power - Legrand 06 860 10kA: Makes your power amp go full throttle, very detailed and tonally rich, but sounds compressed with irritating emphasis on mid-bass.
For ultra dynamics and mid-range detail - Merlin Gerin Multi9 10kA: Astonishing macro and micro dynamics layout, Very detailed and realistic mids, but somewhat dry and inorganic sounding, An EQ effect.
For Euophonia - General Electric G61 6kA: Sweet and lush sounding, bloated bass with lack of resolution, You can spend hours listening to this one until you realize that everything sounds as if there are always up to six instruments playing.
For superb timing, Tightness, instruments separation and natural tone - Hager MU 6kA: Outstanding spot-on timing, Excellent decay and attack of notes, Very good instruments separation and overall natural sounding. Maybe because of the lot, sounds a bit mechanical. wish it had the Siemens' airiness.
For Easy listening - ABB SH 201 6kA: Smooth, natural, easy on the ear, good for classical music, but un inspiring.
Do you have other suggestions ? Please ?
