a chinese restaurant supply sells table bases and table tops seperately, so I bought the "supersize" family table base, a huge cast iron disk that weighs about 120 Lb., and put a regular size breakfast table top on this, and this is on the floor where my listening is done. This mega-dot DID reduce a noticable degree of floor shake by placing it in a resonant peak point... so there is a real good possibility that a thick granite slab at critical points in the structure will have a general stabilizing effect. I've always wanted to make something like a ULF version of the Marigo VTS dot that would look like a modern art piece and sit in the room on the floor and neutralize building vibrations, like a stack of 18" metal disks with elastomer spacers, just like a magnified Marigo...
