Tried a cap as network to CDP Mains cable

82.181.200.218

Some time ago I found instruction to try this tweek to add a cap between the live and neutral wires of a CDP mains cable. Are you guys familier with this?

So I did try. First 2x0.47 WIMA caps which somehow blured up the bass. Then a 0.68 Ansar - wow, what a difference. Tried a few values 0.68uF - 0.77uF - 0.99uF. The two latter seem to work best.

I'm pretty astonished about the differencies the caps make! Makes CD listening much more pleasurable. Takes away quite a bit of the harsness. Can someone explain what's going on here?

And also, is this what companies like JPS Labs do with their Digital AC Power Cord when they state that they use "advanced RF engineering"?
