Ok,so I've constructed the Room Lenses from the pvc, stuffed them properly with batting and have them mounted in wood bases. Wood spacers at the top and bottom keep them alligned. Now, I'm looking for a way to mount them in a poured block of concrete or the like. Has anyone gotten this part of the knockoff figured out? I'm wondering if the resonance absorbing properties of the base as described on the Room Lense site are important, or is this just a way to hype the original design? One idea I've considered is to mount three 2.5 inch pvc joiners in a properly sized mold with both ends of joiners left open. The spacing would have to be correct with both ends of the joiners flush with the top and bottom of the base. The material for the base would then be poured into the mold, with sockets for adjustable feet added after partial hardening of the base. The pvc pipes could then simply be inserted into the base with a fastener at the top maintaining the correct spacing. -Sound like a reasonable plan? So what can one use as the media for the bases? -Concrete? A Resin? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -Thanks in advance
