You simply cannot beat Jon Risch's quick and dirty recipe. In fact, rather than go to the trouble of even covering the bags of proper density fiberglass as JR suggests, I just hid the bags behind chairs and under tables in the corners. Works like a charm at about $11/bag these days. I use only 2 of them as I can't hide any more where my wife won't see, but this does work reasonably well.Don't be tempted to cover them with the carpet. JR says that you need a sonically "transparent" covering in the LF, which means something along the lines of burlap, not carpet. Carpet is too tight a weave. On its own it won't do all that much for bass trapping anyway.
