Bubble Wrap for diffusion?!?

My speakers are Magnepan's (MMG's) and from what I've read, diffusion behind the speakers is preferrable to absorbtion. The kookie idea for the bubble-wrap diffusor panel seems like it might work to some degree. Large bubble, small bubble or some combination of both? Is this idea nuts? I have some of the large bubble type and I may just try it.
How about some feedback guy's? Do I need to take a break from tweeking, or should change my screen name to "RickeyMadGenius"?
