yeah...turns out one of my tubes is indeed microphonic. I'll pick up a couple more to sub in.Kinda cool that it can pick up so much room vibration tho...I am impressed with how sensitive it is...
In fact, a microphonic tube would be a good test of how good all these expensive vibration damping tweaks really are...if they do in fact reduce coupling, it would be more evident with a microphonic tube than a normally operating one. Once I'm happy with a tweak actually working, I'll swap that tube out for a good one...
I always thought a microphonic tube would just have a high freq ringing from the signal changes...I had no idea it would be a microphone to any/all vibration.
