HI, Good post regarding the european scart socket.
Yes indeed, The scart socket adds so much unwanted signal, In fact i think the scart sockets invention was floored from day one.I have used many in the past and they are such a pain with a zillion wires all cramped together including ones we never even use. Add to this the fact that many tvs in the uk are classed as faulty beacuse the weight of the scart socket has split the pcb tracks on the rear of the tv chassis.
The best move i ever made was to go to component video - WOW what a difference.
In the UK we have been swamped by the scart euro connector for many years and it is reccomended to take this completely out of cuircuit as mentioned in the post.
The only reason i now by scart leads is to strip them down for modding hi fi as the wiring inside is cheap and easily affordable (£1 - $1.68).
