I've posted a few mods for the original Planet here:
http://www.acoustica.org.uk/- - from your photos it looks like only some of the layout has changed, so you may find the suggestions helpful, even if the part numbering isn't quite the same.
From your pics I see the complex output EMC filter is retained in the Planet 2000. Bypassing this with two pieces of wire as I describe above will definitely help. At the very least, find the two little nasty 470pF ceramic caps that connect close to the output sockets, and chopping them out will both clean up the sound and open out the treble.
