New tweak for AC plugs

I've been tweaking with various AC Plugs lately and came across something interesting. I had several name brand power cords that used the lesser Marinco 320i connectors. Although I liked the tone of these connectors, there was a certain politeness to the sound that had my ears yearning for a little more flesh and transparency.

Step 1: I thoroughly cleaned all the tines with deoxit and isopropyl alcohol.

Step 2: Let dry and apply the new Xtreme Gold creme.

Step 3: I rolled up a ball of museum putty about the size of a large marble and then rolled it into a 3" length.

Step 4: I then unscrewed the top of the connectors from the bodies and wrapped the putty around the cord, pushing the putty down into the body. I carefully marked on the body where the screws would go and pushed the top back onto the body, tightening down the screws.

Step 4: Plugged the cords into the outlets and let the music play for 72 hours.

Step 5: Unbelievably great sound. The previously polite sound was now much better fleshed out, with great transparency, micro and macro dynamics.

I now have a really good sounding system which I'm glad to leave well enough alone the AC connectors. I tried various Furutechs, Oyaides, and the top Wattgates, and these simple and cheap Marinco 320i's are now my reference. Go figure. Must be system synergy.
