I've tried Ensemble tube socks, Audio Research clear plastic rings, and rubber O-rings from the hardware store. They all result in subtle improvements and reduced microphonics, tho badly ringing preamp tubes continue to ring until tapped. I recently shifted to Pearl Tube Coolers, which noticeably improved focus when used on both preamp and amp tubes. And they have the greater merit of reportedly extending tube life 2-5 times. I can vouch for at least a doubling of the life of the 6C33C-B power tubes in my BAT VK75SE.Dave
