...the prospect isn't 3dB less sensitive, it has 3dB less power, which means that it simply runs out of power 3dB earlier. The prospect could have EXACTLY the same sensitivity as the current amp.The only test that I can think of, and I'm no engineer or technician, that will get him close is to drive the amp with something around 90 Volts AC thru a Variac, which, of course, decreases the bias Voltages, etc.
