Re: Lower cost Furutech options vs. Oyaide...

Hi again Duster,

As dicussed several days ago. I think that all of your recommendations as they regard to replacing the RCA Connectors on several pairs of my Interconnects were right on the mark, and with you going one even further by recommeding the Furutech A.C. Outlet for me as opposed to spending more money on the Oyaide SWO - just goes to prove to me that you're very honest about what you recommend for others, and that in fact you do know a great deal about said matters in general. As for the last 8 months or so I to have found that I much rather Tweak my system as opposed to continuiously pursue the hardware over and over again without fully understanding what is possible from the components which I already own?

I mean many of us are always pursuing the Illusion of the Ultimate - when in fact sometimes we all tend to right off one component or another and simply chase after hopes and dreams of doing better then what is possible with what's in one system provided we all give them a little bit more attention and TLC and be willing to offer a few worthwhile tweaks here and there as a means to fully know without a doubt in our minds what's there to begin with, as all Audio Components shall always be built to a certain price point - then why not simply attempt to understand just how to build upon their strenghts while cancelling out their weaknesses by knowing what to alter in said designs, I mean a Cap here - a Resistor there can go a long way in making just about any component sing. All to often I watch many friends whom ahve the latest and greatest $7.000 Pre-Amp sell it off after just 3 months of owning the damn thing and never till this date could understand why many continue to do this? my response to all of those whom ask me about tube amps and or cables are often told to simply purchase what interfaces with your choosen speakers and then tweak your ass off.

We all tend to place a greater emphasis on the hardware and not the Music itself nor the overall importance of understanding how to properly Isolate each and every component within our given systems as these tweaks can alter one perception of what seriously lies beneath the surface and more often then not merely allows one to put aside notions of upgrading this or that component and simply put there hard earned dollors where they cost most in my opinion -

Into ones Music Collections. Nuff Said.

I just personally wanted to acknowledge Duster's ongoing means of assisting us all with what many again tend to overlook and it's about time we all begin to understand what's what prior to trashing what many of us have thought long and hard about prior to investing in any of our components only to become unpleased with their results in less then a year of so, and are often the victims to our own less then ideal ways of viewing what again is possible through a few well selected tweaks.

And that I for one owe Duster much Thanks. Forthe sake of Music - try it before you trash it. Money spent wisely on any given component to begin with - is what it's all about. And after one has made that investment - merely Tweak it and be content with what you yourself have changed for the best. An Original Thought/Your thought on what sounds best to you and nothing more.

Regards,
- Oscar
