A quick observation about Ceraballs

Last night I installed four sets of Finite Elemente Ceraballs in my system, under the transport, DAC, line stage and amplifier - four Ceraballs under each unit. The digital gear is Audio Note, the amplification is Tom Evans. The transport was previously on a combination of Stillpoints and a small BDR shelf, the line stage was on Stillpoints, the DAC was on Feet of Silence and the amp was on its stock feet. Everything is on a RixRax Sonata rack. I didn't swap in the Ceraballs on one component at a time, I just upgraded the whole system at once.

All the positive things people say about Ceraballs are true. The differences were immediately and overwhelmingly obvious. Much better focus, better dynamics (especially the microdynamics that produce the little details), much improved clarity and a jump in presence that I really didn't think could happen given how life-like the system sounded before. They don't warm or cool the sound at all, they are neutral as far as I can tell. They also provide a more stable support than the Stillpoints or Feet of Silence.

For the price (especially compared to Stillpoints with Risers) these little gizmos are a no-brainer. They get a huge thumbs-up.
