You say that it is wise to install a large cap and put a smaller one in parallel because of parasitic inductance. In fact, most people do just that. They put in the primary cap and then one at one tenth or one onehuundredth the primary value in parallel. But now you have four resonances to deal with. The two capacitor's self resonant frequencies, the small cap resonating with the big cap's inductance, and the big cap resonating with the small cap's inductance. Seems like a mess to me, even if you can calculate for all of those resonance frequencies.Just a thought in favor of the keep it simple concept. We should probably target a specific frequency we want to filter out and leave it at that.
