I would guess that film and foil with its massively greater amount of metal would be more active and beneficial.As the metalized caps are inexpensive, you can try both and learn a lot in the process. I have had a large collection of film caps for many years and always find a use for them sooner or later.
If your 390uF caps are in parallel, then there really is no distinction between one and the other. Are they in a +/- config? Then you need two bypass caps. I am totally unfamilar with this gear (link?).
Don't ignore improved wires and connectors. Clean PS cap terminals and CB board contact points if they are attached with screws.
