For a tube phonostage I'm building (Hagerman Cornet), there is one spot in the power supply where I'm using a Mills MRA-5 2ohm 5 watt resistor (what the parts list and schematic calls for.) I did not realize how small the Mills are until I had them (am using a couple more in other parts of the phonostage.) It's a third the size or smaller than a regular old inexpensive ceramic resistor I'm using in another part of the Cornet power supply, and I guess it diminutive size (when compared to the usual white ceramic power resistor) has me a bit concerned about what it can take. According to specs given at Sonic Craft, this 5 watt Mills can take overloads up to 25 watts for 5 seconds with voltages up to 500 VAC, so I figure I may be fine in this phonostage section with it, but the small size throughs me for a loop.
