That was a very helpful reply as I was also struggling to find the best places to get high quality components.

The transformer on my pre-amp has also melted and it is difficult to find a replacement - the spec is:

Primary: 240v
Secondary 1: 265V 30VA
Secondary 2: 9V 30VA

Any idea where I could find such a transformer!?
